About Us

Alaska Locker Hooking Etc. has been in business since 1999.  It all started when one curious Alaskan, Donna Jacobson, wrote and published the first and most comprehensive book on locker hooking with fabric entitled, “Locker Hooking With Fabric Strips“, copyright 1999.  This started a “locker hooking revolution” from Anchorage, Alaska and throughout the USA!  We continue to promote locker hooking and sell books, patterns, kits, and supplies all over the world.

What is Locker Hooking?

Locker hooking is an old “rug hooking technique” originating in Great Britain in the early 1900′s.  Using a locker hook (a crochet hook with a large needle ‘eye’), yarn (threaded through ‘eye’), fabric strips, and latch hook rug canvas, you can make rugs, wall hangings, baskets, purses, frames, clothing, blankets, kitchen and home decor, and accessories!  It’s fast, easy, portable, and fun!  It’s a great way to make things with your scraps!

Alaskan Stuffie

What are Alaskan Stuffies?

Our adorable handmade Alaskan Stuffies are soft, colorful, crazy creatures and made for ALL ages!  They are just waiting and are ready to be adopted! Each one is handmade using fleece, cotton or faux fur, and locked child safety eyes.  All come with an “Adopt Me, Take Me Home, Love Me and Give Me a Name!” card and a washing instruction tag.  They are machine washable.  Some have pockets for treasures, some wear crochet beanies, but all have BIG hearts and are very huggable and make you smile and laugh!

 What are Alaskan Crocheted Rocks?

Our Alaskan Crocheted Rocks are not only beautiful, but very functional!  Each natural rock is hand-picked from Alaskan beaches, cleaned, and then each one is crocheted using 100% cotton thread and embellished with beads and vintage buttons.  We find them naturally polished from the Alaskan ocean’s waves! They are perfect for napkin and paper weights, bookends, doorstops, home  and outdoor decor (display in bowls, on windowsills, and in gardens), for weddings, and they make unique gifts for anyone!
